As some of you may be aware that we are a family run personal training company (Founders Nick and Hannah Eagle). We started Oxfordshire Personal Training with one vision in mind, Great Workouts Change Minds. We still believe that today.

Charity Boot Camp

13th August @ 9:00am

StudioPT, Oxford, OX2 8EP

Sponsored by Fission Nutrition

We had no idea that our vision ultimately shaped our lives. The underlying theme of exercise has shaped our lives tremendously from first meeting in a gym, to working together, starting a business together, getting married and giving birth to our first child (Sophia). You can definitely conclude that our life wouldn’t be as fulfilling as it has been if it was not for exercise.

On 12th October 2014 our daughter Sophia was born 6 weeks premature and spent almost 3 weeks in hospital. We were lucky enough to be cared for by the staff at the John Radcliff hospital and the charity SSNAP; An Oxford based company that supports sick and premature babies and their families.

SSNAP provides-

  • State of the art neo natal medical equipment.Emotional and practical support for families through a team of family support workers and volunteers.
  • Enables nursing staff to update skills via study days and specialist training courses.
  • Furnishes family rooms and quiet areas.
  • Free accommodation right next to the hospital providing a home for parents whose babies need longer term care or who live outside of Oxfordshire.

This is a charity very close to our hearts and we wanted to give something back to them as a thank you for all that they do in supporting sick and premature babies and their families. They are a charity that relies entirely on donations and receive no state funding. Please help us support them by taking part in our charity boot camp on Saturday 13th August.  All proceeds will go directly to them enabling them to carry on the valuable work that they do.

About SNAPP – Support For The Sick Newborn And Their Parents

SSNAP is the oxford based charity that supports sick and premature babies in the Newborn Intensive Car Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital (Oxford)Image from http://www.ssnap.org.uk/

SSNAP was formed in 1982 by a group of parents who recognised the need to assist with fundraising for additional resources for the Newborn Care Unit or SCBU as it was then called.

In collaboration with Professor Tizard they set about forming a core group of supporters and gradually the charity grew. It is now extremely well recognised and supported across the Thames Valley and beyond. SSNAP transferred to Limited liability status in 2012 and is based in the main Maternity building (Women’s Centre) at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
